19th January 2007 Windsurfing: Cooden Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: gusty 10-18 knots ! Surf / Sea State: coastal chop with some bigger Air Temperature: ok Sea Temperature: okay, but it's gett Weather: overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: Typical, new toy to try out & not enough wind to beachstart off beach and was some shorebreak to negotiate so active swim / waterstart out through past the impact zone and up and away ... ish Marginal to say the least but got going eventually. Heading further out to find cleaner & stronger wind, but not really happening. Seemed more on inside to be honest. Headed back in, turned around before getting too close to impact zone & then tried again. This time wind dies out the back and just waterstarting was a proper ball-ache. Got up and headed back in, got a lucky gust and actually got a bit of a feel what the board will be like when get to use it in anger .... I'm thinking it'll be one I like, but I really need a proper session on it .... One other out, on a 77ltr Fanatic Freewave & 5.7m North, though he must be one of those helium boned sub 70kg riders. My partners in crime, the 3 stooges all opted out having seen my efforts, and I can't say that I blame them ! The weekend looks to offer better, lets hope so !! |
